Mission

Mission

NBCA's mission is to prepare students to:

  • Serve God with integrity and personal character. 

  • Achieve academic excellence for God’s glory. 

  • Serve others with love.

We have identified 15 spiritual and academic standards that enable us to teach and fulfill our mission statement.  We call these standards ESLRs:  Expected Schoolwide Learning Results.  As we fulfill the following standards, we accomplish our goals in 4 areas:  Spiritual, Self-development, Social, and Scholastic.

Spiritual

(Neh. 9:6, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, Tit. 3:5-6, 1 Pet. 2:2, Col. 1:9-10, Rom. 8:9-10)

  1. Accept or be challenged to accept Jesus Christ as his or her personal savior.

  2. Grow relationally in the knowledge of and understanding of God.

  3. Demonstrate acceptance and understanding of the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and to memorize and apply Biblical principles.

  4. Develop a defendable Biblical worldview as a guide and standard of life.

 

Self-development

(Mental, Emotional, Physical) (Ps. 61:5, Dan. 1:8)

  1. Develop personal responsibility for actions and attitudes in a wide variety of areas:  personal initiative, teamwork/cooperation, discernment/Godly morals, and a value for spiritual/cultural heritage.

  2. Develop positive, Bible-centered self-worth based on God’s love.

  3. Develop an appreciation for proper maintenance of the physical body.

Social

(1 Pet. 2:13-17, Rom. 13:1, Acts 13:36, Deut. 6:6-7, Eph. 6:1-3, 1 Cor. 9:25-27, Tit. 3:1)

  1. Develop an acceptance of, and sensitivity to, differences in physical appearance, gender, background, social status, culture, and achievements.

  2. Develop conflict resolution skills.

  3. Develop social graces (etiquette).

  4. Develop a Biblical sense of social responsibility and citizenship.

Scholastic

(Col. 3:23, Eccl. 9:10, 1 Jn. 4:6)

  1. Develop strong study habits.

  2. Achieve mastery of basic academic skills.

  3. Develop creative, cognitive, and critical thinking skills.

  4. Develop good communication and listening skills.
